Privacy Policy
Overview
Focus Beast ("we," "our," or "the app") is a productivity and focus timer application developed by Ani Studios. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, how it is stored, and your rights over that data.
Data We Collect

How We Use Your Data
- To create and manage your account and allow sign-in with Google or email.
- To save and restore your focus progress, streaks, XP, and achievements across devices.
- To send optional push notifications such as streak reminders (you can disable these in Settings).
- To detect and fix crashes and bugs using anonymous crash reports.
- To understand how features are used so we can improve the app over time.
- To verify subscription status and grant premium access after a purchase.

No permission is used to collect personal data beyond what is described in the Data We Collect section. App blocking works entirely on-device — the list of apps you choose to block is never sent to our servers.
Data Storage & Security
- Account and progress data is stored securely on Supabase (supabase.com), a GDPR-compliant cloud database service. All data is encrypted in transit using TLS and encrypted at rest.
- Authentication is handled by Supabase Auth. Google Sign-In uses Google Identity Services (Google LLC). We never store your Google password.
- Push notifications are delivered via Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google LLC). Your FCM token is stored in our database solely to send you notifications.
- Crash reports are processed by Sentry (Functional Software, Inc.), a privacy-focused error tracking service.
- App usage analytics are processed by PostHog, an open-source analytics platform. Events are anonymous and do not include personal identifiers.
- Locally stored data (blocked app list, session state, preferences) never leaves your device.
- Subscription verification is performed server-side via the Google Play Developer API. Purchase tokens are verified and not stored in plaintext.
Data Sharing
Data is shared only with the following third-party service providers as necessary for the app to function:
- Supabase — cloud database and authentication
- Google LLC — Google Sign-In (Identity Services) and Firebase Cloud Messaging
- Sentry — crash and error reporting
- PostHog — anonymous usage analytics
- Google Play Billing — subscription and purchase processing (we receive only a purchase token, not payment details)
All third-party providers listed above operate under their own privacy policies and are subject to GDPR and applicable data protection laws.
Subscriptions & Purchases
Focus Beast offers auto-renewing premium subscriptions (Weekly, Monthly, Yearly) processed entirely through Google Play Billing. We do not process payment card data or store any financial information. All billing is governed by Google Play's payment and refund policies.
To cancel your subscription, go to Google Play Store → Account → Subscriptions → Focus Beast → Cancel.
Children's Privacy
Focus Beast is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a child has created an account, please contact us at the address below.
Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Correction — request correction of inaccurate data.
- Deletion — request deletion of your account and all associated data.
- Portability — request your data in a portable format.
- Opt-out of notifications — disable push notifications at any time in the app Settings or your device's notification settings.

Data Retention
We retain your account and progress data for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, all personal data associated with your account is permanently deleted within 30 days. Anonymised analytics data (not linked to your identity) may be retained longer for product improvement purposes.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will notify you through the app or via the email address associated with your account. Continued use of the app after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
